- This initial introduction covers steam basis such as latent heat, sensible heat, BTUs, Flash Steam, How to calculate steam usage for water, air, and storage tanks, condensate removal, steam separators, vacuum breakers and various steam traps, condensate return and return pump types.

Piping it Right High Quality Steam

-This segment will cover how to install main drip stations, steam separators, steam line sizing, for condensate removal to produce high quality steam to users. What are the effects of low quality wet steam and Why do it cost more to use!

Innovations in Heat Transfer

-This segment will cover Innovations in Steam Systems Design. 98% Efficient Steam Boiler Plants, Closed Loop No Vents to Atmosphere Systems, Zero Flash and Pumping Heat Exchanger Systems, Total Flash Steam Elimination, Open Loop Zero Flash Designs, Reduced Mechanical Room Size, High Efficiency Steam Piping design

Bob James

Bob James has worked in the Steam/Heat Transfer and Boiler business for over 45 years. He has served as a manufacturers field engineering representative for Spence Engineering, Spirax Sarco and Armstrong Machine Works. He founded Thermaflo Engineering in 1986. Thermaflo manufacturers Heat Transfer Systems, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Powered Condensate Pumps, Steam Traps and Steam Pressure Reducing Valves. Bob holds an ASME National Board Certification for Pressure Vessels, and is a member of ASHRAE and the SC Manufacturers Association.
